Kendra's Caps for Causes

(We are so excited she has contacted us to donate her caps to Cinderella Society!)

In 2005 I began making hand knitted hats for people battling cancer. It seems like a very small thing I could do to assist people undergoing treatment and show that I care about them. I call my mission “Caps for Causes.”

I have donated these hats to cancer support organizations and mailed them to cancer patients across the country. Last year I made more than 100 hats and this year my goal is to make 500. They come in all colors and sizes.

All of us have been touched by cancer, whether it is ourselves, a relative or a friend. The hats are a personal touch to show we care. If you will please let me know of any person battling cancer or even an organization that works with cancer patients, I am more than happy to send hats. I provide the hats a no charge. All I need is the name and addresses of people or organizations in need. Please email your request to Kendra Carlson at capsforcauses@yahoo.com.

Tristin enjoys wearing his Sponge Bob Square Pants hat at Childrens Medical Center at Hillcrest in Tulsa. Just more proof that "a smile will cure a bad day!" Tristin, like so many pediatric patients, are in and out of the hospital frequently. It is nice to be able to give them a little something special each time. The Caps for Cancer hats make it possible to do that.
Faith talks to the students at McLean about the importance of treating peers with cancer with respect. Collect those hats!
Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (home of the Texas Boys Choir and the Singing Ladies of Texas) participated in the Caps for Cancer drive collecting lots and lots of hats for the pediatric oncology patients at Cooks! Thank you FWAFA!

Mr. Lawrence's class made a special scrap book of photos for Faith and Cards for Cancer. We thank you for your caring and compassion for children with cancer.
What should I draw to make someone feel special?
